Reflection

Based on this Blog Project that given by Madam Sharifah (EDT 1303), I am very grateful and thankful to Allah because through this project, I gain a lot of new knowledge and experiences. This was my first time doing a blog and I thought it was hard, but with the guidance from Madam and friends, Alhamdulillah I’ve made it. I realize that making a blog actually is a good project and assignment that should be continuous by all students in IIUM. Blog teach me on how to think outside of the box about the content of blog to make it more interesting and give benefits to people, be creative and teach me value of patient.

BEHAVIORISM

Behaviorism is a worldview that assumes a learner is essentially passive, responding to environmental stimuli. The learner starts off as a clean slate (i.e. tabula rasa) and behavior is shaped through positive reinforcement or negative reinforcement. Both positive reinforcement and negative reinforcement increase the probability that the antecedent behavior will happen again.

In learning, sometimes we need reinforcement either in positive way or negative way. Positive reinforcement is like when madam give us the freedom to make our own blog as long we follow the rubric. Besides, madam give us enough time for us to finish this assignment which madam remove something we do not like which need to finish the assignment in short time.That is call Negative Reinforcement.

COGNITIVISM

Cognitivism is a learning theory that focuses on how information is received, organized, stored, retrieved by the mind. The instruction that given by the lecturers should be organized, sequenced and presented in manner that is understandable and meaningful to the students.

            By doing this blog, I get 50% of the information from Madam on how to edit the blog like how to create the header, change the font text and add pages. Madam gave good instructions and follow the beats of the students. If some students do not understand the technique, she will repeat until all of us understand. For some students, making a blog was a new thing in their life so sometimes it is difficult especially for me to catch up with the instructions. But Alhamdulillah, with the help from madam and my friends, I can finish this blog happily. The remain 50% is what I’ve explore the blog by myself. I learnt new things that the lecturer did not teach me by asking questions, watching the tutorial in Youtube, find some skincare blog as my references and make a conversation with my friends about their blog. From the information from madam and a little bit research, I already knew some features in Blog and finish my blog based on the rubric that had given by madam on time. If I need to do a blog after this, it is easy for me to  do so based on my experience.

CONSTRUCTIVISM

Constructivism is a learning theory found in psychology which explains how people might acquire knowledge and learn. It therefore has direct application to education. The theory suggests that humans construct knowledge and meaning from their experiences. Scaffolding is one of the key feature of effective teaching in Constructivism that, where the adult continually adjusts the level of his or her help in response to the learner's level of performance. In the classroom, scaffolding can include modeling a skill, providing hints or cues, and adapting material or activity

What I can relate my leaning with Constructivism is when I am doing this blog, there are many terms that I familiar with. As example, I already  know how to change the background of the blog and change fonts text that I like so it make the process of  doing this blog can be more easily. I used all my experience in IT that I had learnt in Primary and Secondary school. I can do some features in this blog quickly because of my experience before this. Sometimes I forgot some terms or education in Technology but with the help from madam, I can remember it clearly. Madam use the scaffolding when my classmates and I forgot something or want to start new topic or new thing. Constructivism is student-centred so the students need to explore and collect more experience by themselves while teacher is the facilitator for them to teach what the students do not know just by giving clue or some description.

HUMANISM 

(Learning Perspectives)

          Humanism held the view that people have free will, the freedom to choose their own destiny and strive for self-actualization. Based on Humanism, Learning is student-centred and personalized, and the educator’s role is that of a facilitator. The goal of Humanism is to develop self-actualized people in cooperative and supportive environment. It is also focus on the importance of learning lies in the process not outcome and the learners need to observe and explore something by themselves. The teacher should be a role-model that encourage the students and provide them with reasons and motivation for every new part of learning process.

             From the Humanism perspective, what I can relate with the process of making this blog is Madam gave freedom for us to choose our own theme to create this blog. Sometimes, some lecturers or educators will give a theme that is limited for students to develop their creativity and ideas to create the blog. Madam encourages us to explore and observe the blog by ourselves to create an interesting blog that can benefits people. She motivates us to just relax and do not too worry with this assignment because she knows that all of us are very scared and find it as a burden for the students to finish the assignment. For me, making this blog teach me to develop my talent in facial treatment and my creativity to attract the readers with what I want to tell them. I am thankful to my family, lecturer and friends that always support me to finish this blog until the end and I hope I will continue this blog and write more about the skincare routine and so on. Other than that, making this blog encourages me to always ask questions and find the answers. If my classmates did not know the answer, I will ask a help from my friends those are in another section. It shapes cooperation and helping each other among us.

MOTIVATION

Motivation is the process by which activities are started, directed, continued so that physical or psychological needs or wants are met. There are two types of motivation which are Extrinsic and Intrinsic Motivation. Extrinsic Motivation is motivation leads to an outcome that is outside of the self while Intrinsic Motivation is the type of motivation in which a person performs an action because the act itself is interesting, rewarding, challenging or satisfying in some internal manner.

From making blog perspective, I would like to say that it is more to Intrinsic Motivation. The first thing that motivate me in doing this blog is the theme and contents of my blog. I choose Facial and Skincare treatment as my title which I love and like to talk about. I believe that by sharing Skincare Education is a good choice I’ve made as this blog assignment. Why I choose this title is I want to share something that benefits for the readers to take ibrah from it. When I was in secondary school , I do not care about my face or my skin. But after my mom advices me to take care of my skin and doing some skincare routine, I started to love my skin. I always share with my friends about the skincare, make-up etc. When I started my business on Tinazz’s Lulur, I had investigated and observed everything about skin, facial treatment and spa. From that moment, my Intrinsic motivation explodes and more motivate me to do more research on Facial Treatment.
